There have been recent changes to the Government's handling of Medicare Benefits for bulk-billed Telehealth appointments.
When you have a telehealth appointment you will be sent a message from us and AutoMed at the end of the consult asking if you approve the Dr charging Medicare for your rebate.
Without this approval, the doctor will need to charge a private fee.
Please answer YES to your text message which will let us know you have agreed to be Bulk Billed.
This is very frustrating, as it has created a lot of unnecessary work for both us and our patients, but we have no say in the matter.
Please check your message after the consult to ensure your rebate comes through in a timely manner.
